Come on down… again! Virginia mother shares her ‘The Price is Right’ secret

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Hearing your name and then “Come on Down!” at “The Price is Right” could be considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. That is, of course, unless you are Sabrina McGee.

The 66-year-old Chesterfield woman spun the game show’s iconic big wheel back in 2007 during the late-Bob Barker’s last season as host.

The retired corrections sergeant had to wait at least another 10 years to try to win again.

McGee recently traveled to California with her niece just to appear on the longtime running game show.

She said she believed her wardrobe helped her get on the show.

McGee wore a vibrant red sweater emblazoned with the names of her loved ones.

“As I’m spinning the wheel, they say ‘Do you want to say hi to someone?’ So, I did not want to leave anyone out,” McGee recalled. “Once you get up there you get kind of nervous and tongue-tied.”

CBS 6 asked McGee what makes the perfect contestant.

“When you get in that room with those producers, give it all you got. Show them that you are a good contestant,” she explained. “They want someone with energy and is positive.”
