Police: Woman arrested after hitting man in face, injuring with hot wax in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A woman has been arrested in Petersburg after reportedly hitting a man in the face with an object and injuring him with hot wax.

According to the Petersburg Bureau of Police, officers responded to the 400 block of St. Andrew Street just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, after receiving a report of a domestic assault.

When they arrived, officers found a man with “injuries to his face from being struck with an object and hot wax,” according to police.

The suspect, 58-year-old Mildred Hawthorne, has been charged with aggravated domestic assault and is being held at Riverside Regional Jail pending her court appearance.
