Kroger to Invest more than $300 million in West Virginia Associates

RICHMOND, VA (LOOTPRESS) – As part of negotiations with UFCW Local 400 on a new contract for West Virginia associates, this week Kroger Mid-Atlantic shared a comprehensive offer that would invest more than $300 million in associate wages over the life of the contract.

“Kroger is proud to be a unionized grocer and is committed to investing in our dedicated associates while ensuring they have access to affordable, secure and reliable health care benefits is a core priority for the company,” said Lori Raya, president of Kroger Mid-Atlantic.

The company’s offer would maintain industry-leading health care and require no additional weekly health care contributions from associates this year. Associates’ health care premiums are very competitive, with weekly contributions ranging between $11 – $49 depending on the elected coverage tier. The offer also includes significant entry-level wage investments and up to 18% increases in the 1 st year of the contract with additional increases in subsequent years.
