Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority will open up specific waitlists at the end of June

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) will open several waitlists on June 24, including project-based vouchers, public housing, and elderly housing with various bedroom options.

According to RRHA, the waitlist will open following a major campaign conducted in March 2024 that removed people who were no longer interested.

The current waitlist openings will close for project-based communities on June 26 and the others will close on June 28 at 5 p.m.

RRHA has added two walk-in days for applicants to apply in-person for the waitlist on June 17 and June 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.

RRHA will also accept walk-ins on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon, as well as Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the administrative office, located at 699 E. Broad St. on the 4th floor.

The waitlists will open on Monday, June 24, in the following communities:

  • Blackwell Senior Cottages (55 & up): One bedroom units — Richmond
  • Watermark Gardens (55 & up): One bedroom units — North Chesterfield
  • Winchester Forest: One, two and three bedroom units — North Chesterfield
  • Public Housing: One, two, three, four and five bedroom units — Richmond
  • Public Housing (Elderly – 55 & up): one, two, three, four and five bedrooms — Richmond
  • Housing Choice Voucher — to receive a housing voucher
