VIDEO: Car crashes into Richmond storefront, 3 wanted for attempted breaking and entering

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Three suspects are wanted in Richmond after police say they stole a car and intentionally crashed it into a Richmond storefront “several times in an attempt to break in.”

Just before 1 a.m. on Monday, July 1, officers with the Richmond Police Department were dispatched to North 8th Street for report of a crash with property damage.

Officers arrived and found a Honda Accord that had crashed into the front of a business. According to police, the suspects had already fled the scene before the officers got there.

The department’s investigation into the incident determined that the Accord had been reported stolen from an adjacent state.

According to police, one of the three suspects crashed the Accord into the store “several times in an attempt to break in.”

Two charged with murder, other crimes in connection to shooting near Maymont Park in Richmond

“The two other suspects attempted to gain entry but, after they were unsuccessful, all three fled the area on foot,” police said.
