Spend your Fourth of July on ranger-led hike at Pocahontas State Park

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Are Fourth of July fireworks not your thing? Richmond area residents can spend their Independence Day immersed in nature on a ranger-led hike at Pocahontas State Park.

The hike will span from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 at the park, with the group meeting at the Swift Creek boat launch.

Attendees will hike along the Co-Op Trail, which offers views of Swift Creek Lake.

Organizers said the trail has some larger roots and inclines and is about two miles long. Younger children may need to be in a carrier.

Attendees are asked to dress for the weather.
