Woman shot in wrist, shoulder in Hopewell, police investigating

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — A woman was shot in the wrist and shoulder in Hopewell early Tuesday morning.

According to the Hopewell Police Department, a call for a person shot was received at about 6:37 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Officers responded to the 400 block of South 9th Avenue, where they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the wrist and shoulder.

The woman was flown to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.
