RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for several parts of Central Virginia on Sunday
The NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the following Central Virginia areas until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18:
- Caroline County
- Chesterfield County
- City of Richmond
- Dinwiddie County
- Goochland County
- Hanover County
- Henrico County
- King William County
- Powhatan County
A warning, unlike a watch, means one or more severe thunderstorms have been spotted near or within the noted area. A watch means conditions indicate a storm could form.
The NWS issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the following Central Virginia areas until 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18:
