HOPEWELL – A city man was shot and killed Sunday night in Hopewell’s Davisville area.
In a statement, Hopewell Police said Conell Gholson, 44, was found shot several times shortly before 8 p.m. in the 900 block of Davisville Court. He was taken to HCA TriCities Hospital in Hopewell where he later died.
No motive was given for the shooting, and no suspects have been arrested.

Gholson is Hopewell’s fourth murder victim of the year and the eighth person shot in the city since July 21 when two men were killed at a house party gone awry on North Radford Drive. The other shooting victims in that time period survived their injuries.
