RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Much of the Central Virginia region was hit by storms on Monday, with both flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings being issued across the area. 8News viewers turned towards the sky and captured this stormy weather on camera.
The afternoon and evening of Monday, Aug. 19, many Central Virginians experienced local, heavy downpours. Thousands of those in the Richmond area lost power as a result of these storms.
8News viewers submitted photos and videos of what these storms looked like in their area. Several of these submissions showcase what our Stormtracker8 meteorologists are saying is one of the best shelf clouds they’ve ever seen!
