JetBlue flight from Florida to Connecticut diverted to Richmond Airport due to medical emergency

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A JetBlue flight from Florida to Connecticut was diverted to Richmond International Airport (RIC) in Henrico County after someone onboard experienced a medical emergency.

According to a (RIC) spokesperson, the flight was on its way from Tampa International Airport in Tampa to Bradley International Airport outside of Hartford, Connecticut on the afternoon of Tuesday, Aug. 20.

After the flight landed in Henrico, the patient was taken to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond for treatment. RIC officials did not share any information in regards to the patient’s current condition or the nature of the medical emergency.
