Hopewell Police arrest suspect in Davisville Court homicide

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — The Hopewell Police Department has arrested and charged a Richmond man with second-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of a man that took place on Davisville Court on Sunday evening.

According to police, officers responded to the 900 block of Davisville Court at around 7:55 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18 for a report of a shooting. When they got to the scene, the officers found 44-year-old Conell Gholson of Hopewell with several gunshot wounds. Gholson was taken to TriCities Hospital, where he later died.

On Monday, Aug. 19, police arrested Dallas Lee Snydor of Richmond and charged him with second-degree murder and using a firearm while committing a felony. Snydor is currently being held at Riverside Regional Jail in Prince George County without bond.
