Two abandoned cars shot at, damaged in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Two cars abandoned on a Richmond roadway were damaged by gunfire on Thursday.

Just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to Swanson Road in Richmond’s Southside for report of shots fired.

When they arrived, officers found two abandoned cars that had been shot at. The vehicles, which were damaged by the gunfire, are being held by police as the investigation continues.

“No injured persons were located and no involved persons were located,” a police spokesperson told 8News early Tuesday afternoon.

No other information is available at this time. 8News reached out to the Richmond Police Department for an update on the investigation but has not heard back as of the time of reporting.
