Richmond Red Lobster, two more Virginia locations closing amid bankruptcy

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Three more of Virginia’s Red Lobster locations are closing amid the company’s bankruptcy proceedings. One of them is in Richmond.

In May, the restaurant chain announced the closure of dozens of restaurants nationwide , including three in Virginia. Those locations were in Colonial Heights, Williamsburg and Newport News.

According to CNN , three additional Virginia Red Lobsters are among the minimum 23 locations that, by Saturday, Aug. 31, the company will be rejecting the leases of. These soon-to-be-shuttered restaurants are listed below:

  • 4415 S. Laburnum Ave. in Richmond
  • 555 S. Van Dorn St. in Alexandria
  • 709 Independence Blvd. in Virginia Beach

Red Lobster is currently selling itself to Fortress Credit Corp., which also owns Krystal, Logan’s Roadhouse and J. Alexander’s, according to CNN. Fortress reportedly gave Red Lobster a $100 million loan to keep things running.
