Henrico to build transfer station, park-and-ride at western terminus of expanded GRTC Pulse line

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Henrico County Board of Supervisors has voted to approve the purchase of land on which to build a transfer station and park-and-ride at the western terminus of Richmond’s bus rapid transit line — which will be expanded.

The Greater Richmond Transit Company’s (GRTC) Pulse bus rapid transit line, most of which is along Broad Street, currently stretches from Rockett’s Landing at its eastern terminus to the Willow Lawn Shopping Center at its western terminus.

GRTC plans to expand the Pulse’s route further into the West End, where Henrico County will build a transfer station and park-and-ride, both of which will connect residents of western Henrico to the rest of GRTC’s network.

“Henrico County is a fantastic partner, and we are thrilled to be working with them to expand the freedom the Pulse provides to thousands of residents, employees, and visitors,” said GRTC CEO Sheryl Adams.

GRTC will host a public meeting at the Libby Mill Branch of the Henrico County Public Library on Tuesday, Oct. 1 to discuss the westward expansion of the Pulse line.
