Resident hurt, displaced after late-night Petersburg house fire

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A resident was hurt when their Petersburg home caught fire late Sunday night.

Just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, firefighters with the Petersburg Fire Department responded to 2103 North Whitehill Drive for report of a house fire. When they arrived, firefighters could see flames coming from the front of the home. The fire was out shortly after the crews arrived.

A resident of the home was hurt in the fire, according to fire officials. Additionally, the damage to their home has displaced them. They are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
