RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — With VA Pridefest 2024 fast approaching, Richmond is getting ready for this annual celebration with two pride events — a pride market and a two-day kickoff block party — set for the weekend before.
VA Pridefest 2024, hosted by Virginia Pride, will arrive in Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 14 . The weekend before, two other LGBTQ+ organizations will host their own events, creating additional opportunities for this community and its allies to come together.
From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, TransJam Events will take over Diversity Richmond, located at 1403 Sherwood Ave., for its Big GAY VA Pride Market . According to organizers, this indoor-outdoor market will host over 50 LGBTQ+ makers and artists.

In addition to browsing locally-made goods, attendees will also get to enjoy live music with DJ Bear Bonez and DJ Phasim, a photo booth and face painting. According to organizers, food and drink offerings will include HAUTE Dayum — a local queer- and transgender-owned and operated food truck — and Eddie Rose Coffee.
