COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) β A 21-year-old Chesterfield County man is facing charges after a 19-year-old was shot in the head in Colonial Heights on Sunday.
At about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department responded to the area of Tussing Lane and Moorman Avenue for report of a person shot.
When they arrived, units found a 19-year-old unidentified victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
βThe victim, who was conscious and speaking with officers, was transported to VCU Medical Center for treatment,β police said in a press release.
Investigators identified 21-year-old Donivan Neal of Chesterfield as a suspect in the shooting. According to police, the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to his home and took him into custody.

Neal is facing several charges, including aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm while committing a felony, shooting into a motor vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
