VCU Police to conduct checkpoint Friday evening on West Main Street

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Police Department will conduct a checkpoint in downtown Richmond Friday evening.

According to a spokesperson from the university, VCU Police officers will conduct an administrative checkpoint from 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 until 2 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 on the 700 block of West Main Street.

Officers will check driver’s licenses and motor vehicle registrations at the checkpoint.

Law enforcement officers from the Richmond Police Department and Virginia State Police will assist. The checkpoint is funded by a grant through the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles
