Sheriff charges juvenile from Chester, VA in Henry County bomb threat investigation

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) –-The Henry County Sheriff has announced the arrest of a juvenile from Chester, VA after a bomb threat made to an elementary school caused a partial lockdown on September 10.

The sheriff says around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, G. W. Carver Elementary School received a bomb threat over the phone. As a precaution, the school was placed on a partial lockdown.

Members of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene and began to investigate the threat. It was quickly determined that the call originated in Chester, VA and investigators began working with law enforcement from that jurisdiction to identify the person responsible.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Police in Chesterfield County identified and charged an unidentified juvenile with Threatening to bomb, and Use of profane, threatening, or indecent language.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office takes every threat to our school system serious, and we will work diligently to bring those responsible for disrupting our schools to justice.
