Local piercing studio gives families a new, safe option

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. – A new piercing studio in Ashland gives families, primarily children, a safe and serene option to get pierced.

Zach Napotnik, owner of Precision Family Piercing , noticed a lack of professional piercing locations that were also kid-friendly.

“You either went to the mall and got the piercing gun which causes a lot of trauma, comes along with a lot of issues, or you go to a tattoo shop, and tattoo shops are great, but they’re not always a kid-friendly environment,” Napotnik said.

Napotnik runs the studio with his fiancé, Jennifer Matula. The idea of opening a piercing studio
geared towards children piqued Matula’s interest as she is a longtime and national board
certified elementary school teacher.

Napotnik began his journey piercing primarily adults and sometimes children at a tattoo shop.
Parents began recommending him as a kid-friendly piercer in moms groups on Facebook, which then snowballed into local pediatricians recommending his practice, as well. He says these
word-of-mouth reviews helped him find the niche that he has landed upon today.
