Petersburg Police investigating shooting, person sent to hospital with injuries

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Petersburg Bureau of Police is investigating a Friday morning shooting that left a person injured.

At around 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, the Petersburg Bureau of Police posted on Facebook that officers were on scene investigating a shooting in the 1600 block of East Tuckahoe Street.

According to police, a victim was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Due to the heavy police presence in the area, the bureau advises people to avoid the area as officers conduct an investigation.
