WRIC 8 News reported that after decades of serving residents, Richmond bakery The Mixing Bowl has officially closed its doors. It was in the Beverly Hills Shopping Center at 8540 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23229.
Owner Tracy Stevens decided to close her bakery last week after facing challenges with staffing. The iconic bakery was known for custom cakes, cupcakes, and assorted sweets.

Stevens said:
“I had a sleepless night Friday, sleepless kind of Saturday — Sunday was kind of coming to terms with what was going on. And Monday [was] really just making the final decision to do it.”
Steven shared how her bakery was more than just a business for her. It was a place where customers became family and celebrated milestones. Many say her bakery was part of their special memories.
“We get to celebrate some of people’s most important life events — weddings, graduations, milestone birthdays.”
Even though The Mixing Bowl is closed, Stevens promised to fill all existing orders through the end of the year.
