Spiders Come From Behind to Take Down Campbell 27-24

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Brandon Peskin’s 36-yard field goal with one second left secured a 27-24 win for the University of Richmond over Campbell, putting the Spiders at the top of the Coastal Athletic Association standings. Richmond improved to 8-2 overall, winning its eighth straight game, the longest regular-season streak since 2009, and reached 6-0 in the CAA, tying a record set in 2009.

The game had four ties, and Richmond led only after Peskin’s game-winner. Defensive highlights included Matthew Traynor’s career-high 12 tackles and an interception. Camden Coleman led Richmond’s offense with 252 passing yards and 64 rushing yards, while Landon Ellis had 101 receiving yards.

The Spiders scored touchdowns from Nick DeGennaro and Zach Palmer-Smith, and Ja’Vion Griffin caught a late game-tying touchdown. Richmond’s defense made crucial stops to set up the winning drive. The team will face Hampton next, aiming for a ninth straight victory.
