CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Chapter of Mocha Moms , a national nonprofit designed to support mothers of color and their children, hosted a formal tea party on Saturday in Chesterfield County.

8News anchor Eric Philips and reporter Alexis Bellamy were honored to host part of this “Mommy and Me Tea” event, which was held in the Midlothian area on Saturday, Nov. 16.

They were delighted to spend time with guests dressed in their finest, fascinators and all. The party included a lesson in proper tea etiquette — where Philips said he learned that it’s actually rude to lift your pinky while sipping.

Mocha Moms provides sisterhood, service and support for mothers of color. According to its website , it aims to walk alongside mothers “as they journey through all phases of motherhood, while advocating for them nationally.”
