Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Richmond, other Central Virginia localities

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Richmond and multiple other Central Virginia localities Thursday night.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 in the following Central Virginia localities:

  • City of Richmond
  • Chesterfield County
  • Goochland County
  • Powhatan County

A severe thunderstorm warning will be in effect until 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the following localities:

  • Caroline County
  • Hanover County
  • Henrico County
  • King and Queen County
  • King William County

When a severe thunderstorm warning is issued, that means a severe thunderstorm has been located in the area of the impacted localities.
