Mid-Atlantic Rainfall Update: Heavy Showers and 6-Foot River Rises Possible in Virginia by Wednesday

Richmond, Va. – Calm weather across Virginia will give way to heavy rain and rising rivers starting Monday, with more than 2 inches of rainfall expected across central and southern parts of the state by early Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service’s Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, a low-pressure system will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms into the new work week. Areas including Richmond, Lynchburg, and Danville should prepare for potential travel delays as rain intensifies through Tuesday.
