RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond clinic has lost more than $850,000 due to federal funding cuts after 55 years as Virginia’s oldest free and charitable clinic.
The Health Brigade clinic, which is located at 1010 N. Thompson Street, has been providing judgment-free care to those in need, and in a social post, announced that they have lost $850,000 due to federal funding cuts, with up to $1.5 million at risk. This is nearly a third of the clinic’s budget and is what they are calling “one of the most serious threats in our history.”
