Richmond restaurants scramble to find ways to stay open during water advisory

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – At Dot’s Back Inn on MacArthur Avenue, the door is open and they’re serving up hot food to customers coming in, even under a boil water advisory.

“We’re fortunate that we still have the water to begin with because whereas last time, when that happened, you know, restaurants can’t operate without running water,” said McKenzie Bryant, Dot’s Back Inn General Manager.

Once Bryant got the alert Tuesday about the city’s water issues, she ran to the store and stockpiled water, sparkling water and soft drinks…
