A new state record was certified by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries for Almaco Jack (Seriola rivoliana).
Warren Poirier of Charles City, VA, caught a 56 lbs., 4.8 oz fish off the Outer Banks on Saturday, June 8, where the previous state record was 33 lbs., 12.6 oz in 2024.
