RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – We all know that new car smell, but what about that new bus smell? Well, GRTC passengers will have the chance to get used to it.
A new fleet of four articulated buses has arrived in the River City and is ready for daily trips on the Pulse Bus Rapid Transit line on Broad Street, which has 17% of the monthly ridership.
“If you were to take a ride on the Pulse line, even probably today, you’re going to find that the bus stays packed, standing-room only during most of those stops. So, this is going to be a huge asset for us,” said Ashley Potter, the GRTC communications manager.
This is the first bus of its kind for GRTC. It’s 20 feet longer than the standard 40-foot bus and can hold 120 passengers, which is 40 more people than before…
