Virginia Weather Alert: Thunderstorm Risk 5–10 PM Tuesday, July 1st in Louisa and Richmond

Richmond, Va. – Severe storms could rattle parts of Central Virginia Tuesday evening, with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph expected between 5 and 10 p.m. The primary threat includes downed trees, isolated power outages, and hazardous travel on routes including I-64 and US-33.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, a “Slight Risk” (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather covers areas north and west of Richmond, including Louisa, Farmville, and parts of Northern Neck. Most of Eastern and Southeastern Virginia, including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Williamsburg, remain under a lower “Marginal Risk.” Storms are expected to be scattered but could intensify quickly.
