A man recently won a life-altering amount of money in the Mega Millions lottery — and he initially didn’t even know it.
John Willis of Chester, Va., won $2 million after purchasing a ticket for the April 29 drawing, per a June 27 press release from the Virginia Lottery.
“Hey, someone won at that little bodega!” Willis first said when he found out someone in his area had won the haul, per the release.
He said that his girlfriend then prompted him to check his own ticket from the bodega, at which point he discovered he was in possession of the winning ticket…
