Flood watch in effect for some Central Virginia areas

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The National Weather Service has issued several flood watches in Central Virginia due to this morning’s rainfall.

The following cities and counties are under a flood watch:

  • Amelia County
  • Cumberland County
  • Chesterfield County
  • Colonial Heights
  • Goochland County
  • Powhatan County
  • Henrico County
  • Richmond
  • Brunswick County
  • Dinwiddie County
  • Nottoway County

The watches will remain in effect throughout Monday morning.

The rainfall is attributed to Tropical Depression Chantal and could bring 1-3 inches of rain to isolated areas throughout the region.
