PETERSBURG, Va. — A body has been recovered amid a search for a man who fell into the Appomattox River while fishing with his friends in Petersburg on Tuesday night, according to Chesterfield Fire.
An active search began Tuesday night along West Street near the river, before it was called off the night, according to a social media post from Petersburg Fire Rescue and Emergency Services.
