Severe storms knock out power to 98,400-plus across Central Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. — More than 125,500 Dominion Energy customers were without electricity in Virginia after powerful storms moved through the Commonwealth on Sunday afternoon and evening.

Roughly 98,400 customers were without power in Central Virginia as of 7:45 p.m., according to Dominion Energy. Most of those outages were concentrated in Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield and New Kent counties as well as the City of Richmond. That number had dropped to just over 51,000 customers without electricity as of 11:30 p.m.
