Venezuelan restaurant Bocata Arepa Bar, located at 10170 West Broad Street in the West End, recently announced its closure on Instagram. After nine years in business, the restaurant’s final day of operation was Aug. 22.

Charlottesville-based gym chain ACAC has purchased the former Lumber Liquidators building in Libbie Mill—Midtown for $13.8 million, Richmond BizSense recently reported. ACAC plans to open a fitness center in the 53,000-square-foot building. This will be the gym’s third location in the region, having opened in Midlothian in 2005 and Short Pump’s West Broad Village in 2012. Three other fitness studios are already operating in Libbie Mill including 9Round, Solidcore and Burn Boot Camp.

Colliers International recently announced the following lease transactions in Henrico County: Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of General Services – renewed its lease of 23,030 SF at 1001 Technology Park Drive (Malcolm Randolph, Catherine Walker, John Carpin and Jimmy Martin represented the landlord); Carter Machinery Company, Inc. – leased 11,110 SF at 4880 Cox Road (Jimmy Martin represented the tenant); 1Dream Home Inc. – leased 1,955 SF at 4461 Cox Road (Malcolm Randolph represented the landlord).

MP RVA Development, LLC recently announced the appointment of Katie Kenyon as director of community partnerships for its nine Richmond-area Marco’s Pizza locations. Kenyon will spearhead the company’s local engagement, building partnerships with schools, nonprofits and community groups to deepen Marco’s connection throughout Central Virginia. Kenyon brings more than a decade of nonprofit leadership and community advocacy experience to the position. Most recently, she served as the executive director of Village Green RVA, a Richmond-based nonprofit dedicated to healthy food accessibility, community connection and support for foster families, seniors and youth. Under her leadership, Village Green RVA served tens of thousands of meals, processed hundreds of thousands of pounds of rescued food, mobilized hundreds of volunteers, and connected 65 community organizations to deliver food and resources to thousands of neighbors in need.
