Richmond Zoo Cheetah and His ‘Emotional Support Dog’ Are the Most Unlikely BFFs

Have you ever seen a dog at the zoo? True, some zoos offer dog-friendly days when your pup can tag along with you, but it seems unheard of for dogs to live in the zoo alongside tigers and monkeys. Actually, it happens more often than you may think!

Artist @mythsandmakers witnessed this firsthand while visiting the Richmond Metro Zoo on September 14. While at the cheetah exhibit, they noticed Kago, a happy Yellow Labrador mix, lounging lazily with his best feline friend, Kumbali. Dogs and cheetahs aren’t exactly an iconic duo, but this cheetah and his ’emotional support dog’ quickly snuggled their way into everyone’s hearts when a video of them began circulating online.

Aww, they look so happy together! The cheetah’s zen-like expression and the dog’s big smile tell the entire story: they’ve been attached at the hip since they were babies, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. In fact, this duo has been surprising and delighting zoo visitors for over an entire decade!…
