CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – A Chesterfield police officer is now facing charges after police were notified of a tracking device placed on a vehicle.
Chesterfield Police said it started in July, when they received a complaint alleging Alan W. Ross, 36, placed a tracking device on a vehicle belonging to someone Ross knew. 12 On Your Side’s legal analyst is weighing in on the matter.
“You can’t do that, no, it’s illegal,” Steve Benjamin said. “You can’t simply get a tracking device and put it on somebody’s car just because you are curious about where they are going.”…
