RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond legend D’Angelo passed away Tuesday at age 51, shocking fans and sparking a conversation about pancreatic cancer.
The disease ranks 10th in terms of incidence but third in cancer-related deaths, according to Dr. Will Voelzke at the Virginia Cancer Institute.
“What’s troubling about pancreatic cancer is this, it’s number 10 in terms of incidence, but in terms of cancer-related deaths it’s number three,” Voelzke said.
