RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — To help residents stay warm and save energy this winter, the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is distributing free weatherization kits to people aged 65 and older while supplies last.
Each kit includes energy-saving materials like:
- Insulating weather stripping
- Draft-stopping outlet covers
- An energy-efficient light bulb
Distribution events will take place on the following dates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the locations listed below:
- Thursday, Oct. 23 — Southside Community Services Center, 4100 Hull Street Road
- Thursday, Nov. 6 — East District Initiative, 701 North 25th Street
- Thursday, Nov. 13 — Brookhill Azalea Shopping Center, 5300 Chamberlayne Road, Suite 3
