Gov. Youngkin holds press conference on emergency food benefits delivery

RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — Governor Glenn Youngkin will be holding a press conference alongside Secretary of Health and Human Resources Janet Kelly to discuss the delivery of emergency food benefits to Virginia’s SNAP beneficiaries.

According to a release, the press conference is set to take place starting at 12:15 p.m. in Richmond and will provide updates following Youngkin’s declaration of a state of emergency on Thursday for hunger relief.

“The State of Emergency allows the Governor to expend emergency funds under sum sufficient authority to protect the health, welfare and safety of Virginians,” a release from Youngkin states.
