Richmond SPCA prepares for 27th Annual Fur Ball at The Jefferson Hotel

The Richmond SPCA will host its 27th Annual Fur Ball on Saturday, November 1st, at The Jefferson Hotel, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The black-tie, pet-friendly gala serves as the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting the Cinderella Fund, which provides lifesaving veterinary treatment for thousands of homeless animals in the Richmond area.

The nonprofit expects more than 380 guests and 25 pets to attend this year’s event, presented by Moore Subaru of Richmond. The SPCA has set a fundraising goal of $800,000 to help offset over $1 million in veterinary care costs projected for the coming year. Those funds support treatment and rehabilitation for more than 3,500 sick, injured, and neonatal pets—approximately 80% of the animals cared for by the no-kill organization annually.

Event details and highlights

The evening begins with a cocktail reception in The Jefferson Hotel’s rotunda, sponsored by The London Company. At 6:40 p.m., the Parade of Pets, presented by Holiday Barn Pet Resorts, will feature attendees and their pets making a grand entrance down the hotel’s staircase.

At 7:15 p.m., the SPCA will present its highest honor, the Ellen Glasgow Award for Humane Service, to attorney Laura D. Windsor, a partner at Williams Mullen. Windsor has served on the SPCA’s Board of Directors for eight years and chaired the board from 2023 to 2025. She led the organization’s strategic planning process, oversaw a brand refresh, and has contributed extensive pro bono legal support and event leadership.

The event’s online auction, featuring more than 80 packages, opens Friday, October 23rd, and runs through 11 p.m. on Saturday, November 1st. Bidders can participate via GiveSmart under “The Fur Ball.”…
