These parts of Virginia will be most impacted by SNAP delays

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia’s northern, central and southeastern localities have the highest share of residents receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, according to data from the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS).

In 2024, one in 11 Virginia residents — or 9% of the state’s population — received food assistance, according to data from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
