That’s life advice from 103-year-old World War II veteran and Henrico County resident Thomas Brown.
Drafted in the 1940s, as a barely 20-year-old, he was sent to Fort Dix in New Jersey for basic training. The Richmond native, who grew up in Jackson Ward, was stationed in Europe from April 1943 until April 1946. He arrived in France.
