Inside VPM’s new Downtown Richmond headquarters
Though unfinished, the structure of VPM Media Corp.’s new headquarters on East Broad Street already hints at what is to come. In a behind-the-scenes media tour Thursday, leaders said the facility’s design, both in and out, is a modern manifestation — marking a new era for the Virginia public media station.
The five-story, 53,000-square-foot facility was still buzzing with construction crews as President and CEO Jayme Swain said VPM anticipates opening in late spring 2026. VPM broke ground last August with a block party after purchasing the site in 2023.
“We wanted to be where the center of news was happening,” Swain said, referencing the proximity to City Hall and Virginia’s General Assembly. “We’re an arts and culture institution as well, and now we’re in the heart of the arts and culture district.”…
