Richmond Fire Department Names Three New Deputy Chiefs to Lead Key Divisions

The Richmond Fire Department in Virginia has appointed three new Deputy Chiefs. They will oversee the Operations, Support Services, and Administration divisions. The appointments are part of the department’s leadership changes.

Rodney Epps is the new Deputy Chief of Operations. Epps has worked at the Richmond Fire Department for over 27 years. He started at Fire Station 10 and has held roles in technical rescue, training, fire investigations, and field operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion University. Epps will manage citywide response services, including twenty engine companies, eight truck companies, and specialized units.

Paul Moore III is the new Deputy Chief of Support Services. Moore has more than 28 years of fire service experience. He has worked in leadership roles at the Baltimore City Fire Department and the Norfolk Airport Authority Fire Department.
