Nearly 20 years later, family still seeks answers in Richmond cold case

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Connecticut family is calling for justice nearly two decades after the unsolved murder of 33-year-old Francisco Gonzalez, who was shot outside his Richmond home.

According to the Richmond Police Department (RPD), Gonzalez was on the porch of his home on the 2200 block of North 29th Street early on the morning of October 23, 2006, when he was shot multiple times. His then-girlfriend told police she heard him scream for help and believed he had been “snuck up on.”

Officers said Gonzalez had only lived in the neighborhood a short time after moving from Connecticut for a construction job…
