RICHMOND, Va. — A storm will bring more snow to the region today. Unlike the storm last Friday, this storm will have colder temps to work with. A longer period of light snow will result in higher snowfall totals in some parts of Virginia, especially southern Virginia.
A winter storm warning is in effect for much of central and southern Virginia, including most areas near and south of Interstate 64. This includes the Richmond metro and the Tri Cities. Winter weather advisories are in effect elsewhere.
Any rainfall will change to snow as colder air moves in. Snow will increase this morning into this afternoon, with the greatest accumulations during that time. Snow will turn more scattered after sunset, and taper off by late evning.
