HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A furry “suspect” that ransacked a Virginia ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority) store before passing out in a bathroom after becoming “intoxicated” has inspired T-shirts, a promotional campaign, and now, cocktails.
The morning of Saturday, Nov. 29, officer Samantha Martin with Hanover County Animal Protection & Shelter responded to an unusual call out of an ABC store in the town of Ashland, per a social post from the shelter.
According to officials, a raccoon broke into the store the night before. Once inside, he smashed dozens of bottles and ransacked several shelves. The “masked bandit” was collected from the bathroom and taken to the animal shelter to “sober up.” The shelter said he was later released back to the wild.
